Message to Patients
“Medicor” is a Latin word meaning “to heal” or “to cure”. We chose this name for our clinic because it perfectly represents our philosophy of care. The Medicor Cancer Centres team of health professionals provides personalized treatment and support to patients to help achieve their goal of a positive health outcome.
Medicor Cancer Centres’ founder and Medical Director has spent nearly 15 years in Toronto working closely with cancer patients and their families. This has allowed him to gain a deep understanding of the difficulties they face as they deal with the many dimensions of their care.
Over the course of 2007 and 2008 our focus has changed considerably. We have started exploring and offering novel options for cancer treatment that are currently not routinely available in Canada and other parts of the world. This change was guided mainly by our patients who kept researching potential treatment options and bringing them to our attention. It became clear to us that there are many scientifically valid treatments - researched at prominent universities around the world - that never make it to the mainstream due to a number of financial, political or administrative reasons.
After extensive research, we have been successful in bringing many unique treatments and diagnostic tests to our patients in Canada and other countries. Our personal and caring approach and willingness to openly explore and discuss all available evidence-based enhancements for the care and treatment of our patients has made Medicor Cancer Centres’ a distinctive leader in cancer care.
Medicor Cancer Centres’ is the first clinic in the world to use dicholoroacetate (DCA) as an “off-label” cancer treatment, and the first to use the ChemoFit assay to predict a patient’s response to DCA alone or combined with chemotherapy. We have also treated many patients with ammonium tetrathiomolybdate (TM), low dose naltrexone (LDN) and noscapine. We are constantly adding newer promising treatments (such a photodynamic therapy and immunotherapy) so that our patients can have access to options that are not readily available elsewhere.
The management of cancer continues to evolve requiring the co-ordination of groups of medical professionals, use of technology and supportive services, and most importantly a willingness to embrace a paradigm shift in the treatment approach.
If you are living with cancer, please allow us the opportunity to tailor a personal care plan for you. We will show you how we can make a real difference in your life!
